Psychology for Dummies

Basically, the reason why I chose the book Psychology for Dummies is because though I want to become a psychologist someday. I yet to take a Psychology class. So i really don't know much about it. But Psychology for Dummies is broken down into a simple way where somebody that has almost no clue on the subject can understand. It may not cover every aspect of Psychology, but it covers what I want to be.

I bet your wondering how I decided that being a Psychologist is what I want to do, when I havent even taken a class yet. Well it all started back in middle school. I was very interested in social studies, and wanted to be a social studies teacher when I grew up. But unfortunately I started realizing that my fear of talking in front of a class was still building on me. But I could'nt get over it. So i still wanted to be in the same subject about and work with students. So I started consentrating around being a school counselor. Therefore i could still work in the a social studies field and also be able to work with students. But after a long period of time I decided that working in a school is'nt what i want to do. But i definetly want to be a counselor. So i started looking at the Psychiatrist/Psychologist jobs. I looked up the how many years of schooling, and talked to friends at school about it. Psychology has to do with the brain, how people act, and many other things that are similar. But these questions have always sparked my interests in my life. So I decided that one of these two jobs would be perfect. I'm still a counselor, i've always been good with talking my friends through things, I guess i've been good at semi judging people. But i chose a psychologist over a psychiatrist, because i need a doctoral degree to be a psychiatrist, and i'm not sure thats what i want to do. Maybe someday I might be more interested. But for the moment I'm going to persue my dream of becoming a Psychologist.
